The Artist’s profile
Maria Valdma Härm (b. 1973) is an Estonian jewellery artist whose practice explores the intricate relationships between spatiality, memory, and individual identity. Her work, rooted in the poetics of jewellery art, investigates how wearable objects interact with the spaces they inhabit—both physical and emotional—and how these interactions reflect and shape personal and collective experience.
Central to Valdma Härm’s creative process is the understanding that jewellery is not an isolated object but part of a conceptual whole, existing in dialogue with the space around it and the body that wears it. Her installations examine the subtle boundaries between the private and the public, the self and the other, using jewellery as a message carrier—transforming “words” and memories into tactile, wearable forms. These objects speak not only to the wearer but also to the stranger who encounters them, inviting fleeting, poetic exchanges.
A graduate of the Estonian Academy of Arts (MA,Jewellery Art, 2000), Valdma Härm has been active on the international art scene since 1994. Her work has been exhibited across Estonia and Europe, as well as in Brazil, China, Korea, and the United States. She was a member of the group F.F.F.F. from 1996–2005 and is a two-time recipient of the Cultural Endowment of Estonia’s Annual Prize (2002, 2021), among other accolades, including the Young Estonian Jewellery Award (2016).
Her pieces are held in the collections of the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design, Estonian Art Museum and in private collections internationally. Alongside her artistic practice, she is the member of the Estonian Artists’ Association and works as the gallerist at the association’s HOP Gallery.

Wenyin handcrafts each jewellery piece in her London studio, embracing sustainability at every stage. She works exclusively with 100% recycled silver and responsibly sourced gold, ensuring her materials align with her ethical values. Her gemstones come from fair trade and ethical sources, reflecting a deep respect for nature and craftsmanship. Rejecting the fleeting trends of fast fashion, Wenyin creates timeless, high-quality pieces designed to endure—both in beauty and meaning.
